Training my students on beating drum// 16-06-2025.

Yesterday morning at Kings and Queens Schools, where I serve as a teacher and mentoring young minds was slated for few minutes band practice. It was a day of music, rhythm, and teamwork. As a teacher, my role goes beyond academics. I believe in holistic development, and that's why I'm passionate about our school's band training program. It's a platform where our students can express themselves, develop their creativity, and build confidence.

In the practice, I took charge of the bass drum and we had an intensive 30-minute training session. Where bass drum, snare drum, tenor drum were played in unison to create a sound harmony. The energy was superb as those in band group followed my instructions, I still don't forget some beats I learned from my music director back then in secondary school. I used the opportunity to teach them what I learned some years ago, and they enjoyed the session as we worked on perfecting our beats, synchronizing our rhythms, and harmonizing our sounds.

The progress was remarkable. Our students have come a long way since we started the band training program. They can now handle drumming during morning devotion, marching to classrooms from the assembly ground, and even performing at school events like inter-house sports competitions and Children's Day celebrations.

As I watched our students play with precision and passion, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and accomplishment. It was a big win, not just for our band, but for our school community as a whole.

Band training is more than just music; it's about discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. It's about working together towards a common goal, supporting each other, and lifting each other up. As a teacher, it's moments like these that remind me why I do what I do. It's not just about imparting knowledge; it's about inspiring, motivating, and empowering our young minds to reach their full potential.

Yesterday was indeed another impactful day for our band training session. I'm excited to see what the future holds for our talented students, and I'm honoured to be a part of their musical journey.
