In Kaduna State, Nigeria, we have a museum where animals are kept and also large hectares of land and forest where wild animals can be found. There are so many Protected animals in Kaduna, and Roan Antelope is one of the protected animals in Kaduna State Nigeria.
Roan Antelope
Roan Antelope is a protected animal that is found in Kamuku National Park and the Kwiambana Game Reserve in Kaduna State. The problem now is that this animal is declining and it is fragile. However, it was so common across Nigeria's Savannah regions, but their numbers have significantly dropped due to illegal hunting and Habitat.
Causes of Habitat and Environmental Changes
Logging and illegal grazing: Loggers disturb breeding sites, and livestock compete for food.
Uncontrolled bush burning: Fire destroys grasslands and feeding ground for this animal
Poaching for sport and meat; Irrespective of the protection for this animal, it is still hunting for bushmeat.
