My DIY Fridge Repair Story

in hive-144064 •  16 days ago

This summer has been extremely hot, and my refrigerator started having problems. I noticed the lower section wasn't cooling properly, but at the same time, ice was building up on the cooling plate. This usually happens when the thermostat stops working correctly and can't control the temperature properly. I also found out the compressor relay was faulty - sometimes it wouldn't even start the compressor.

I decided to fix it myself. First, I went to the market and bought a new thermostat and relay. This was my first time replacing these parts, so it took me some extra time to figure everything out. After carefully installing both new parts, my fridge started working perfectly again! Now it cools just right without making unnecessary ice.

The whole experience taught me that with some patience, we can fix many household appliances ourselves. It saved me money on repair costs, and I learned something new. Plus, now my fridge is ready to handle this hot summer!
