Yesterday, June 19th, I had the pleasure of cooking a traditional Nigerian dish, "Oto Mboro also known as grated unripe banana porridge with the company of my boy, Princewill. This nutritious meal is a staple in my Ibibio culture, and I'm excited to share my cooking experience with my steemit friends in this amazing community.

I began by washing the unripe bananas to remove any dirt or sand. Next, I peeled them and used hot water to thoroughly wash away any remaining gum, dirt, or sand. With the bananas cleaned, I used a local grater to grate them into a pulp.

Now it was time to cook the porridge. I started by boiling two cups of water in a pot over my cooking gas. Then, I added steamed meat, fresh fish, palm oil, salt, onions, and other spices, just as if I were making a hearty soup. Once the mixture boiled, I added periwinkles and waited three minutes before gradually adding the grated banana pulp to the pot. Finally, I added chopped cori leaves for extra flavour and aroma.

I stirred the mixture well to combine all the ingredients and covered the pot for five minutes, allowing the flavours to meld together. Once cooked, I turned off the heat, removed the pot from the gas, and scooped the delicious porridge into a flat plate.

I sat on my tiled floor, surrounded by the comforting aroma of "Oto Mboro", and enjoyed the meal with my baby boy, Princewill. It was a truly satisfying experience, and I'm grateful to have shared this traditional recipe with my friends.
