Hey friends!
We all say sleep is important, right? But let’s be honest, we either ignore it, delay it, or just struggle with it every night.
So today, let’s get a little real and chat about our sleep stories – the good, the bad, and the sleepy! 😴 Below are a few important questions I’ve answered from my own experience. Feel free to share yours too!

1. How many hours of sleep do you usually get each night, and do you think it’s enough?
Honestly? On average, I have 6-7 hours of sleep every night. I understand, it is not very good but that is life, is it? On some days I am simply glued to the phone or plagued with thoughts before sleep.
When it is days that I can get a full night sleep, wow, the difference! My attitude is not as bad, I no longer feel like a zombie, and even such basic processes as the brushing of my teeth or making tea seem easier. Lack of sleep means the mind feels wobbly, and I easily get irritated: even the sound of a fan is too loud!
And so, to some extent, I do not think I have enough sleep during most nights. However, I also think that similarly to the fact that we find time to have dinner or watch Netflix, we should find time to sleep. …

2. Do you follow any sleep routine (like reading, meditation, avoiding screens)?
Well… I do, but I am not ideal. Occasionally, I have a little read or simply lie and listen to relaxing music. On good nights, I turn lights off, turn my phone silent and I do not chat a lot just before going to bed. However, there are days when I watch reels and lose time.
I have realized that taking at least 30 minutes off screen time before bedtime actually helps. My eyes are also relaxed and I do not receive those racing ideas. On other nights, I also engage in light exercises or deep breathing activities.
It is not the trick, but rather the consistency.. I constantly remind myself: You take care of your teeth and brush them every minute, but you do not give the same respect to your brain. The goal in sleep routines is not to make giant steps.

3. What disturbs your sleep the most? (noise, stress, mobile, late-night eating, etc.)
Oh boy, this is a big one! My biggest enemy? Overthinking. Just when I lie down, all the random thoughts come crawling in. Like why did I say that embarrassing thing five years ago? 😅 Stress is the next villain – if I have an early meeting or pending task, my mind just won’t rest.
And the other thing, I will tell you straight, my mobile phone is a sleep robber. I mention five minutes, and boom, one hour watching reels or reading tweets have already passed. And we will not even mention late-night snacks. It is always that spicy noodle craving that comes after 11 pm and I juggle in an attempt to sleep.
In order to combat them, I make sure to leave my phone aside, list the things I have to do, and remind that sleep is my best healer.

It is amazing how I am quite the opposite...I am an overthinker but it rarely affects my sleep. The moment I get to bed, I sleep off in minutes. I usually sleep 6-7 hours per night just like you but most times I sleep for two hours in the evening after work. You really wrote well...Just like you said, we really need to keep our phones away to achieve good sleep.
