Importance Of Hydration In Summer

INTRODUCTION

Water is the substance that all living things including plants, depend on to keep living. It would been a difficult situation if there were no substance calledwater. Water helps lubricate out body systems and used to soften solid particles which we taken in as food.

There are times out body system would require more water intake and there are other times it doesn't need more water. Like during the rainy or winter season, our body doesn't crave for more water intake unlike in the summer or rainy season. But then, this doesn't mean we should not take water during the rainy or winter season. Water is recommended to be taken whether we thirsty or not thirsty.

The questions raised by the host @abdullahw2, further shows how important water is to our body system. In support of this important competition, I now move ahead to provide answers to his questions below.

Why staying hydrated is more important in the summer than other seasons

The summer or dry season as it may be called in different regions, comes with excessive heat which makes the body system to get dry. During this season, the body temperature rises to abnormal level that if it lacks enough water, could result unhealthy outcome. Some of the reasons to stay hydrated during the summer season include:

  • It protects the body from having sicknesses that results from lack of water

  • To replace the water that is been lost during sweating in hot weather conditions

  • Staying hydrated during summer helps us to perform physical activities

  • Staying hydrated controls the body temperature

How much water I try to drink daily in the summer and the routine I follow

I don't really measure the quantity of water that I do take in daily. But with certainty, I have a routine for getting my body system hydrated. The routine is that I divided my water intake into three as follows:

  • Morning: I make sure that I take water very early in the morning between 5:00am to 6:00am. I take at least, one bottle water immediately I wake early in the morning. After few minutes of eating in the morning, I also take at least, one bottle water to enable the food I ate to digest.

  • Afternoon:During this time, the temperature rises as there would be intense sunshine or heat. This time, I take between two to four sachet water to hydrate my body system as I sweats so much.

  • Night: As the night comes, the temperature reduces and so my water intake reduces also. I take between one to two cups of water water few minutes after having my dinner. These are my daily routines especially during the summer season.

My Favorite hydrating foods, drinks or beverages during hot weather

During the hot weather, I take some beverages to also hydrate my body system. Some of are fruits such as:

  • The Cucumber

  • Oranges and

  • Watermelon

How dehydration affects our body? And how to overcome that situation?

Dehydration affects our body negatively in some ways as follows:

  • Becoming thirsty

  • Causes kidney stones

  • Causes headache

  • It changes the color of the urine

  • Dehydration could also cause constipation; that is inability to defecate.
