Today I am here to introduce you to the famous Ramna Park in Bangladesh. It is located next to the historic Sarwardi Park, the heart of the capital, Dhaka. Ramna Park or Ramna Udyan is a park located in the Ramna area of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. It is famous for the Pohela Baishakh ceremony every year. In addition, this park has become known as the main center for morning walks in the capital. It is also known as the oxygen factory or 'lungs of Dhaka' to the residents of the busiest city, Dhaka. Every day, hundreds of men and women come here in the morning to maintain their physical fitness. They exercise in a beautiful natural environment.
Directions to various places inside Ramna Park
It was established in 1610 during the Mughal period under the supervision of the Mughals. The Mughals themselves named Ramna Park. From the old High Court building to the former road building, the Mughals created a garden of various flowers and diverse trees. But later, due to negligence during the company period, this area turned into a jungle. British Collector Dowse took various steps for the development of Dhaka city in 1825 and also development of Ramna Park.

At that time, the area of the park was about 89 acres. In the 19th century, Development took place in the 19th century with the financial support of the British rulers and the Nawabs of Dhaka. A plan to beautify Dhaka city began in 1908 under the supervision of R. L. Proudlock, one of the workers at Kiwi Gardens in London.

As part of that city plan, Ramna Park also underwent extensive development. They played a special role in the development of Ramna Park for 20 years. This development work was completed in 1928. Even after the partition of India in 1947, Ramna remained an important area of Dhaka. However, Ramna Park was officially inaugurated in 1949.

Every year, on the morning of the Bengali New Year, a New Year's Eve ceremony is held at Ramna Batamul in Ramna Park in a joyful and festive atmosphere to welcome the new year.This ceremony is organized under the supervision of the cultural organization Chhayanaut.

The New Year's Eve celebration has been held here since 1967, organized by Chhayanaut. Except for the Liberation War in 1971, this festival has been held until today. It has now become a national festival. On the morning of Pahela Baishakh, the general public comes to Ramna Batamul to welcome the Bengali New Year.

Currently, the area of Ramna Park is 68.5 acres. There is a lake inside it with an area of 8.76 acres.
Currently, there are 211 species of plants in Ramna Park. Of these, 87 are flower and ornamental species, 36 are fruit plants, 33 are medicinal species, 3 are agroforestry plant species, 2 are forest plant species, 2 are aquatic plant species and 3 are spice plant species.

There are several rare species of trees in Ramna Park. Some of these are Padauk, Palash, Dharmar, Kauatuti (Banparul), Agar, Jacaranda, Tamal, Baobab, Girisidia, Camphor, Scarlet Cordia, Jahurichapa, Cassia Javanica, Madhavi, Malti, African Tulip etc.

There are hundreds of small and large trees along the road. There are various seating arrangements for tired travelers to rest while walking. In some places, there are long benches, and in some places, there are round molded paved seating arrangements. Tired travelers sit under the trees and rest here, come in contact with the pure air, and inhale the pure air.
There is a huge lake in Ramna Park, and there are several speedboats in the curved lake. Visitors enjoy traveling in those speedboats to their heart's content.

A beautiful road has been built along the side of the lake, which is made like a bridge. The entire perimeter of the huge lake is decorated with railings. Through the beautiful road of the bridge, visitors can enjoy the beauty of the lake on one side and also get the touch of the sweet breeze coming from the evergreen trees.

There is a huge banyan tree here. Basically, the historic New Year festival is held under this banyan tree. Famous artists from all over the country sing to the audience with their sweet voices. The audience also comes here like locusts to see them, listen to the heartwarming songs of the new year, and also to enjoy the taste of the festival.

Ramna Park is open to visitors all year round. It never closes. This arrangement has been made so that everyone can enjoy the taste of nature. There is a large restaurant inside Ramna Park. Where you can enjoy the taste of international food along with local food.
Panta rice and Hilsa fish are the main dishes of the New Year.
There is a beautiful paved road all around Ramna Park. While walking on the road, you can feel the touch of the sweet breeze coming from the garden. And the smell of Asha flowers from the garden fills all around. Pedestrians cannot ignore this place. They rush to Ramna Park and enjoy the beauty of the morning.

I also went to Ramna Park with a few friends to enjoy the joy of our traditional New Year's Eve festival. The atmosphere of the park fascinated me. While walking along the lake, the clear water of the lake enchanted me. The sound of chirping of various birds in the trees reminded me of my son Bela's village.
We arrived at Ramna Park in a new outfit to welcome the new year.
The New Year's Eve decorations of men and women make the atmosphere more festive. Everyone welcomes the New Year by dancing and singing. I also keep walking around with joy in my heart. I enjoy the beauty of nature. At the same time, I feel honored to be able to come to the historic Ramna Park on.

There is a police camp inside the park to ensure the safety of visitors. A few policemen are on duty there all the time. If anyone who comes here is suspicious, he is questioned. However, no one is harassed unnecessarily here.
