I am delighted to join this unique global family.
My name is Affiong. I am a native of Awi, in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State.

My name (Affiong) means Moon when translated into English. So, just as the "moon" illuminates wherever it faces, my goal and aspiration here is to illuminate this platform with what I know and the experiences I have in various areas of life; particularly those related to my traditional and local food, people, places and events.

Being a teacher by profession, I enjoy writing and documenting. Hence, I look forward to joining the numerous communities here and partaking in their writing tasks and contests. I also look forward to documenting and sharing my journeys and experiences with everyone while also actively exploring those shared by others to learn more about them. I have a little knowledge about crypto and hope to learn a lot more here on steemit.

I was introduced to steemit by a dear friend @eliany. She has been very selfless; taking her time to enlighten me about steemit and all I needed to know to get started. I am confident i can count on her guidance going forward.
