It is almost humid everyday in these times of the year just right here in my neck of the woods considering that it is the wet and rainy. But the rain just comes mildly and into the night and sometimes a couple of hours after midnight just like in the wee hours of the morning today and it awakened me up from my slumber although I was able to sleep again.
But the activity in the kitchen area at around 4:30 AM had made me to stop sleeping because it was my dialysis schedule and my mother will give me my food about an hour later. Its a routine for our home now, the inconvenience of going to and from the dialysis clinic had been a part of our lives but at least we do not worry anymore about payments which is a dream come true for dialysis patients here in my country because of the universal health care law which in turn improved the benefits of dialysis patients which are members of Philhealth. So thanks be to God that many patients now had given more lease in life and it is great that the good prevails in the government in this regard.
Anyway, I couldn't emphasize more of my sentiment about the weather, it is affecting my current condition and with the half-hot days, it is a disservice unto me because I could not let out extra water and toxins unlike in the hot and "dry" weather which I crazily got accustomed for enduring because it has its benefits unlike even if it rains a little, the mud will get into the floors, not that our floor gets muddy but rain gives me rather worries and so much inconveniences not to mention about not being able to let out extra water from by just perspiring, which is so much important for me, you will never understand.
It is a good thing anyway that it only rains at night because people needs it, nature needs it. But here in our town, there are already Barrios that are submerged in flood waters. The only poor residents will not get out from those places because of course, nobody likes floods but they have no choice but to stay.
That is why it is a very bad idea nowadays to live near coastal towns and beside river systems here in our place most especially because of the said problems plus the rive near our home gets swollen from time to time too. Tt is really scary sometimes when floods get high, it can cripple businesses and transportation like the transportation I needed for my dialysis schedules come rain or shine, holiday or tragic events, dialysis treatments has to continue.
My grandfather died from the flood in that particular unusual flood because it rained so heavily in the province near the mountains which the huge waters made our river system swell because our province is lower or lowest among other provinces. Apparently my grandfather is aboard a boat and the boat capsized. He is living by himself and already suffered from stroke before that happened. We only got the news from eyewitnesses which brought the news to our relatives living in the mountains.
My father via my uncle tried to find the body, My father sent money to him and my uncle got a few people to help him search but to no avail, my grandfather was lost into that riverbed but not around here in our river but up in their province near my grandmother lives (although the are far apart, they are not in good terms). It is a tragic event for our family caused by weather and of course, my grandfather has his share of fault too, but it is just something especially for my father to endure. But me and my siblings doesn't see him often so the pain is less for us for our loss but I think it tis a good thing because I do not want the feeling of negative emotions nor any negative things for that matter.
