Hello dear travelers! I realized that I forgot to share the last very interesting place in my opinion that I saw in Mantua, this beautiful city that had a great development during the Renaissance, I'm talking about the Tempio Alberti also called Tempio di San Sebastiano. The visit to this place was included in the €15 ticket that I paid to enter Palazzo Te, which I had already talked about here and I had already made a post of mine, but you can also find some interesting videos on my YouTube channel. In fact, I'm also developing a new channel specifically for tourists who want to visit Italy that I invite you to visit, because I will try to share many interesting things, about beautiful places to visit in Italy but less touristy and less known abroad, because in my opinion the beauty of visiting a new place and a new nation is precisely this. So today I wanted to talk to you about the Alberti temple which is called that because it takes its name from the famous architect Leon Battista Alberti, probably one of the most important architects of the Renaissance, especially during the House of the Gonzaga family, this important family that practically brought the city of Mantua to splendor. Below I leave you the official website: https://maca.museimantova.it/tempio-leon-battista-alberti/ What to say about this place and what feelings it left me with, first of all it is fascinating because it is an unfinished thing, in reality it has not been completed, because probably at the beginning it was supposed to be the tomb of the Gonzaga family, also because it was located in a very remote area of the city of Mantua, Some say that instead Ludovico II Gonzaga had a vision, and therefore for fear that the population would be infected by the plague he decided to build this temple dedicated precisely to San Sebastiano who is the protector of people suffering from the plague. In reality the complete project will never be completed, it will be partly abandoned and looted, but it will find the function that now that it is that of a memorial of the Fallen for the Fatherland In fact inside there are the remains of some martyrs. I have to be honest there was not much to see inside, there was only a part of the collections of a Ducal Palace that was nearby, but there was nothing to see, there would have been a crypt underneath that probably would have been interesting also because the architect wanted to create two mirror churches one above the other, but in reality it was closed because it was not reopened after the earthquake of 2012. Let's say that if it had not been included in the ticket it would not have been worth wasting time in this place, which I repeat is quite interesting precisely because of the mystery behind its construction that over the years has never been solved. Thank you for reading See you in my next post

Visiting the Tempio di San Sebastiano stirred a quiet curiosity in me more for what it represents than what’s there. There’s something hauntingly beautiful about those structures.
Creating a channel is such a great initiative. Even in a country as well-known as Italy, there are still remarkable places, like this temple. Exploring and sharing these lesser-visited gems makes the journey even more rewarding and helps others see the country.
