Good evening from the Southern Nigeria to you. I am excited to come your way once again, this weekend. I am convinced that it's well with you over there. Here, I 'm feeling so elated. Last Saturday at Grace Bill Church was a memorable one as Minister David Essien, a pastor at the church was received into the church officially. It was a double celebration. Let me tell you how my day on that Saturday went. Stay with me.
Since the venue of the event was not nearby -28 Grace Bill Road, Eket, I had to wake up early enough to catch up with time. The schedule time for the event to start was 10am.
By 6am, I was up from bed. As usual, I said my prayers to thank God for his mercies over me. After this, I started washing clothes that I would use for work within next week. It took me some time to finish washing because enough water was not readily available to take of all my clothes. But I weathered the storm and then I was through with home chores before 9am.
I left home by 9.30. The distance took about an hour, with two thousand naira (Nigerian currency), as transport fare, equivalent to three steems. Although I arrived late, around 10.30am, the program didn't start as scheduled. This was because majority of the invited guests came from far distance. However, the event took off by 11.40am.
Minister David Essien has worked with the church for two years and in the services of the kingdom for thirty-seven years. He is my colleague in the service of soul saving. I knew him when we meet on evangelism mission.
In the afternoon, my engagements were at Eket. I joined his other friends to celebrate his services in the kingdom. The celebrant appreciated some outstanding individuals who had contributed significantly to his life with awards.
The church was filled to the brim. People: friends, colleagues, relatives and associates, all came from far and near to celebrate with the celebrant. Minister David is a dedicated and selfless man of God. His character endeared all and sundry to his person.
The program ended in praise . It was a glorious moment. The event came to an end when the church presented to him, a brand new Toyota Camry car. I wasn't able to take a picture of the car because the secretary of the church only presented a car key to the minister in front of the church. I was far away from the front seat.
I came back home late in the evening around 6.45pm. When i got home, I took bath and then had my supper. After this, I had to prepare what I will teach the children in school on Monday. By 9pm, I went to bed and slept off.
