in photography •  yesterday

Few flowers in the world can rival the delicate beauty and intoxicating fragrance of the jasmine flower. Revered in cultures across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond, jasmine has become a symbol of love, purity, and spiritual grace. Whether growing wild or cultivated in home gardens, its white or pale yellow blossoms have a way of capturing hearts and uplifting spirits. The jasmine flower belongs to the genus Jasminum in the olive family (Oleaceae). There are over 200 species of jasmine, and while many are native to tropical and warm temperate regions of Eurasia, Australasia, and Oceania, jasmine can be found in gardens all over the world. Most common among them is Jasminum sambac (Arabian jasmine), which is often used in perfumes and tea, and Jasminum grandiflorum (Spanish jasmine), known for its large, fragrant flowers.
