If today, there are barely four loose stones left of what was once the town of Torralbilla, the same does not happen, fortunately, with one of the most beautiful and relevant historical-artistic elements of that legendary set of singularities, which It is, without a doubt, the community and land of Guadalajara: the hermitage of Santa Catalina. Located four kilometers from Hinojosa, the closest town and partially protected by the supportive company of the oak, pine, juniper and holm oak, which in these lands is also usually known by the name oak, its harmonious elegance invites, from a first glance, to let yourself be carried away freely by daydreaming.
The monumental complex resting on a small, although elegant porticoed gallery, in whose leafy capitals one does not miss the grotesque presence of those childish monstrosities that so disgusted the severe and objective Saint Bernard, the silence, barely interrupted by the occasional song of some bird or by the whisper of the wind, which, as it flows freely between the arches, brings with it the joyful song of the juniper needles, is a true balm for the spirit, especially when it feels sick from the exhausting stress of the city.
Si en la actualidad, apenas quedan cuatro piedras descabaladas de lo que en su día fuera el pueblo de Torralbilla, no ocurre lo mismo, por fortuna, con uno de los elementos histórico-artísticos más hermosos y relevantes de ese conjunto legendario de singularidades, que es, sin duda alguna, la comunidad y tierra de Guadalajara: la ermita de Santa Catalina. Situada a cuatro kilómetros de Hinojosa, el pueblo más cercano y parcialmente protegida por la solidaria compañía del roble, del pino, del enebro y de la encina, que por estas tierras también suele ser conocida con el nombre de carrasca, su armónica elegancia, invita, desde un primer vistazo, a dejarse llevar libremente por la ensoñación.
Descansado el conjunto monumental sobre una pequeña, aunque elegante galería porticada, en cuyos foliáceos capiteles no se echa de menos la grotesca presencia de esas infantiles monstruosidades que tanto disgustaban al severo y objetivo San Bernardo, el silencio, apenas interrumpido por el canto ocasional de algún pajarillo o por el susurro del viento, que, al colarse libremente entre los arcos, trae consigo el alegre canto de las agujas del enebro, resulta un verdadero bálsamo para el espíritu, principalmente, cuando éste se siente enfermo del agotador estrés de la ciudad.
