I got a real laugh out of the headline that was probably written by feminists and the fact that they talked about it for a long as they did as they spoke about how the New York Liberty are tearing it up in the WNBA and look on course to repeat their national championship again this year. I had to look it up because I wasn't sure if they had won the championship last year or if they ever had because like almost everyone else, I am only watching the WNBA because of the Clark-effect.
It is just hilariously stupid to me that when the WNBA gets a little bit of attention, there is going to be some sort of feminist author out there that is going to jump to conclusions and presume that just because a team is doing well in that league, that this coach is now somehow adept at doing it at any level - which is absurd and of course would result in massive failure at all levels and embarrassment for the coach herself as well as all the members of whatever team she were to take over.

Her name is Sandy Brondello and there is absolutely no reason to dislike her. She is a good coach I guess and she has done well in the WNBA winning multiple championships that almost nobody watched over the years.
As someone that has played on a pretty competitive level of basketball in High School I can say that a good coach is absolutely essential to a team functioning well. There has a be a good mix of knowledge of the game, knowledge of training that improves players' performance beyond just running them and having them play scrimmages, as well as (and I can't stress this enough) the respect of the players. If a coach doesn't have the respect of the players, the players will revolt and sabotage the games either by accident or on purpose.
Say what you will about the women's movement in sports right now, but that last bit is the main reason why we are not going to see a female head coach in the NBA in my lifetime. We can all sit around and pretend that women are equal to men in a lot of ways, primarily intellectual ones, they are... but not in terms of a physical sense. Also, the people who play professional basketball might put on a nice face for the sake of the cameras and even attend WNBA games from time to time but they do not see the women players as their equals if they were telling the truth.
There was a time that Brittany Griner was taking about how she would defeat Demarcus Cousins in a one-on-one competition and the sporting world just laughed at her.

I'm sure some of you have seen those clips of football (of the soccer variety) games where world-champion women's teams take on under-15 boys high school teams and the world champs get beaten convincingly. Then there was the time that the US Women National Team took on Wrexham FC's retired players and lost 15-0 or something like that. I
So when the question was asked of whether or not she would consider taking the job at the now vacant head coach job of the Knicks this is what was in the article.
"Sandy Brondello, with a laugh, confirms that the Knicks have not contacted her about their head coaching vacancy."
Because of course they haven't, and they never will. It would be an absolute disaster if anyone were to ever try this at a professional level. Hell, I think it would be a disaster at a high school level. While I know that we are all supposed to pretend as though women are on an equal peg as far as ability in these positions are concerned the fact of the matter is that professional men would not take her seriously and I think that a number of them would quietly get in touch with their agent to get them traded to a different team so that they could not get caught it the media crossfire that this sort of decision would undoubtedly bring upon them.
Sometimes players get angry at their coaches and this would somehow become a hate crime if the coach was a woman.

Sandy does a good job at her position of head coach of the Liberty but it would be professional suicide if she were ever to try to do what some stupid reporters are suggesting that she try to do. Remember Annika Sörenstam and how she became the first woman player to ever compete in a men's PGA tournament and then failed to qualify after one round and then cried at the post match interview? Well, I'm sure that Sandy would prefer to avoid that.
