Expected behavior
Renaming an image should be a function that gives the picture a new name not a function that creates duplicate copies of the said picture.
Actual behavior
Pictures when renamed become duplicated when they are viewed in the phone's default picture gallery.
How to reproduce
- download the app from fdroid store
- launch app and allow permissions if prompted
- Select a picture folder
- Hold and select a picture file
- Click on the pencil icon on the top tool bar to edit and rename
- Save and exit the Simple file manager
- Now open the phone's default picture gallery found by going through the menu.
- Open the affected folder and you would see a duplicate copy of the renamed picture.
Device: TECNO-L8Plus
Operating system: Android 5.1
Application: Simple File Manager
version: 3.3.3

@cha0s0000 Thanks for breaking down the reasons. Well, first of: I just checked again and 3.3.2 is still the latest version, no new releases yet.
Secondly, none of the issues discussed on the github page made any specific reference to the case of duplicate pictures as a result of using the rename function. Or the case that renaming a picture creates a duplicate of that picture.
What exacrly was the similar issue? The fact that a wound and an injury are synonyms of them selves does not mean you get injured or wounded from similar actions.
I don't know if the analogy makes sense to you but. . Try to look at this again, thanks
